ProLiteracy Worldwide is a nonprofit international literacy organization based in Syracuse, NY, that was formed by the 2002 merger of Laubach Literacy International and Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc. ProLiteracy Worldwide is now the oldest and largest nongovernmental literacy organization in the world and pursues a mission of sponsoring educational programs that help adults and their families acquire the literacy practices and skills they need to function more effectively in their daily lives. The hospital delivers these kits to new moms and mails a book on their 1st birthday.

Junior Woman's Club of Milford

The Junior Woman's Club of Milford is a non-profit organization founded on the principle of service to the community. The club first met on May 6, 1968. The club is open to all women in the Milford area. We meet on the first Thursday of each month and guests are always welcome. We sponsor events such as the city-wide Spelling Bee, Milford Living Treasures and Monday morning story hour at the Milford Public Library plus more. Each year we raise money to give back to the community with programs such as the Literacy Center of Milford and High School Scholarships. For more information please contact Tami Jackson 876-1247.
