Welcome to the tutor page.
The Literacy Center has @ 75 volunteer tutors working weekly with students in classes or one on one. We also have an ESL library for tutors. Please come in and browse our books and check out information. There is also a notebook with copies for you to take and use with your students. We are here to help you!

Standards for Tutors
A LCoM tutor
• Is able to read, write, and speak English.
• Holds at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Displays an enthusiasm for reading.
• Is willing to attend a tutor-training workshop and be open-minded in accepting new teaching concepts.
• Is able to fulfill commitment to tutor training and make a commitment to tutor for one year.
• Keeps a record of tutoring sessions and submits monthly hour report with the LCOM office.
• Maintains confidentiality.
